Computer giants are finally taking preventive measures to protect the environment. Intel, for one, has initiated energy consumption with their operations. Addressing the need to adopt technology that can reduce the growing problem of carbon-footprint. Carbon footprint adds up to the ever present danger of global warming due to green house effects. Various programs have been put up to raise the awareness of these problem. Intel started to use renewable energy in the U.S. Furthermore, Other companies like Oracle, have jump started organizations that focus on using technology to transform the energy industry. Presently, the global IT industry is responsible for the 2% increase of the global carbon dioxide and is likely to increase in the following years because it is one of the fastest growing industries.
