Bing’s Out – Anybody Notice?

BingWell, they should! Microsoft reports to have shelled out 100 million dollars for all the publicity and ad campaigns while Google has spent less than a fourth of that amount. Call it complacent yet there is not much buzz for the newcomer in the search engine market where winners and losers are known in a short time. Many see the strengths of Bing, such as the robust filtering technology in imaging searches that prevents pornographic images from being presented with the rest of the search results. Google isn’t raising red flags yet, but one particular executive has expressed alarm on the introduction of the new search engine, enough to get him seen with the day to day operations of their search engine product which he isn’t normally involved in.
Now many industry experts are seeing a rise in interest but they attribute this to curiosity, something everybody on the internet seems to possess a lot of. The true success of the new search engine from the Redmond Giant may still be too early to see or visualize for as it is now, there are some who say its a winner and some who say it’s simply just another search engine. Maybe the company is praying that Yahoo simply roll-over and die to get them a larger piece of the search market, maybe!
